Creative Sparks: Life at Studio Science | Jarrod Kingston

Kathleen Armbruster

In Creative Sparks: Life at Studio Science, we spotlight the people behind the work – the ones turning complex challenges into meaningful solutions every day. This series pulls back the curtain on what drives our team: their creativity, collaboration, and the moments (big and small) that make Studio Science a uniquely human place to work.

In this edition, we’re talking to Jarrod Kingston, our Enterprise Account Executive whose career has bridged the technical and strategic worlds of consulting. A Salesforce MVP with deep roots in solution engineering and pre-sales leadership, Jarrod joined Studio Science in March 2024 and has been a powerful connector ever since – bringing technical depth, authenticity, and a consultative mindset to every client relationship.

Well-known and well-liked across the Salesforce ecosystem, Jarrod is one of those rare people who makes things clearer, better, and more human, whether you’re a teammate or a client.

Kathleen Armbruster: Why do you like working for Studio Science? What makes you proud to be part of the team?

Jarrod Kingston: What I love most about Studio Science is the team. We’re a group of seasoned consultants across roles, and that depth of experience makes a huge difference – especially when it comes to sales and delivery working closely together. Everyone’s talented, reliable, and just great to work with.

There’s also a strong sense of teamwork here. With a company our size, people often wear multiple hats, and I think we do a great job collaborating and making things happen.

From a sales perspective, the level of executive involvement really stands out. Leadership doesn’t hesitate to roll up their sleeves to support both our team and our clients – and that builds real trust.

Kathleen Armbruster: What does it mean to you to be part of the Studio Science team?

Jarrod Kingston: To me, being part of the Studio Science team means getting to help build something meaningful. It’s exciting to be part of the momentum we’re creating, whether that’s in the Salesforce or Optimizely ecosystems, or through the growth of our design practice. Over the past year, I’ve seen that momentum really take shape, and it’s been incredibly rewarding.

What makes me proud is going to industry events and hearing people say, “Oh yeah, Studio Science, I know them.” That recognition tells me we’re doing something right.

Kathleen Armbruster: What are some of the reasons you choose to stay at Studio Science?

Jarrod Kingston: One of the biggest reasons I choose to stay at Studio Science is the team – that’s always been foundational. But beyond that, it’s the opportunity to help build something. It might be easier to jump to a bigger company with more resources, but there’s something deeply fulfilling about growing something with real momentum and knowing you’re part of shaping it.

I also genuinely believe in the value we deliver to clients – from strategy to execution – and I’ve seen that come together more and more during my time here. Add to that the client relationships I’ve built and the success we’ve shared, and it reinforces why I love doing what I do.

Kathleen Armbruster: Can you share a favorite Studio Science memory with us?

Jarrod Kingston: One of my favorite Studio Science memories is from Dreamforce last year. I was organizing a customer dinner and got a late start booking a spot. Thankfully, our VP of Alliances, Derek Neff, offered me his reservation and I gladly took him up on it.

We showed up to find a dimly lit lounge with tiny side tables, giant wingback chairs, and mushroom-shaped lights taking up half the table space. It was cramped and chaotic – we were balancing plates on our laps and laughing the whole time.

To top it off, when Derek arrived, I jokingly introduced him as my assistant who secured our amazing reservation. We still laugh about it today. It’s one of those moments that perfectly captures our team’s resourceful, fun energy. We make it work and we enjoy the ride.

Kathleen Armbruster: Our core values are: 1. Honesty is the only policy 2. None of us are smart as all of us 3. Being great as a choice. Which core value do you feel you exemplify most in your day-to-day work?

Jarrod Kingston: It’s tough to choose just one, but the core value I try to embody most in my day-to-day work is honesty is the only policy. Stepping into a sales role, I’ve been really intentional about staying grounded in transparency. One of my personal mantras is that I’m totally fine losing a deal if it means I was honest with the client about what it would take to be successful.

I’d rather have a straightforward conversation about scope, timing, or staffing – even if it’s tough – than overpromise or push something that isn’t aligned. Being upfront builds trust, and ultimately, that’s what leads to real, lasting partnerships.
