Creative Sparks: Life at Studio Science – Eric Sexton

Kathleen Armbruster

In Creative Sparks: Life at Studio Science, we continue to shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals who make up our team. We dive into what inspires them, how they embrace challenges, and the moments that shape their personal and professional journeys. From creative breakthroughs to everyday milestones, this series celebrates the heart of our company: our people.

This month, we are excited to introduce Eric Sexton, a Salesforce Technical Architect and technology innovation leader who thrives on collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous learning. Passionate about teaching and mentoring, he believes the best solutions come from working together.

At Studio Science, he’s drawn to challenging, meaningful work and a team that values curiosity, creativity, and camaraderie. For Eric, it’s not just about solving complex problems, it’s about doing it alongside great people who inspire and push each other forward.

Kathleen Armbruster: Why do you like working for Studio Science? What makes you proud to be part of the team?

Eric Sexton: I enjoy working at Studio Science because of the collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment. As a Salesforce Technical Architect, I thrive on solving complex problems and working with creative, smart people who share that passion. I really connect with the company’s core belief that "none of us are as smart as all of us," which emphasizes teamwork, cross-communication, and shared problem-solving.

While I appreciate the mix of Salesforce and commerce work, what truly sets Studio Science apart for me is the people – talented, collaborative professionals who foster an environment of innovation and mutual support.

Kathleen Armbruster: What does it mean to you to be part of the Studio Science team?

Eric Sexton: Being part of the Studio Science team means continuous growth and taking on challenges that push me out of my comfort zone. I thrive in an environment where creativity and problem-solving are valued, and where I can harness those skills to make a real impact. It's not just about doing meaningful work, it's about doing it with a team that shares the same drive for innovation and helping others. We all strive to solve real-world problems in ways that truly make a difference, and that sense of purpose is what makes being part of this team so fulfilling.

Kathleen Armbruster: What are some of the reasons you choose to stay at Studio Science?

Eric Sexton: The unique size and the opportunities it provides. Having worked at companies of various sizes, from large organizations to startups, I appreciate the balance that Studio Science offers. We’re at a size where collaboration across teams is easy, and everyone has the chance to contribute in meaningful ways.

There’s a shared vision and a strong sense of collective purpose, which makes it an exciting and dynamic place to grow and explore new ideas together. It’s a team environment where we can continue to innovate and evolve as we move forward.

Kathleen Armbruster: Can you share a favorite Studio Science memory with us?

Eric Sexton: Last year’s TDX event, where I had the opportunity to attend as part of a project we were working on with Salesforce. During the event, Salesforce set out to break a Guinness World Record by gathering the largest number of people dressed as Albert Einstein. It was a fun, community-driven moment, and I was proud to be a part of it.

Afterward, my colleague Paul and I decided to keep our costumes on and head to dinner with our coworker Jimmy, who always knows the best spots but clearly didn’t expect us to show up still in our Einstein outfits. It turned into an unforgettable evening, and walking through the streets of San Francisco in our costumes, we fit right in!

Kathleen Armbruster: Our core values are: 1. Honesty is the only policy 2. None of us are smart as all of us 3. Being great as a choice. Which core value do you feel you exemplify most in your day-to-day work?

Eric Sexton: I’d have to go with: "None of us are as smart as all of us." Collaboration is key for me, and I really believe in the power of working together. Even in a mostly remote company like ours, having the opportunity to collaborate with someone, even if we both already know the answer, is really healthy. It’s not just about getting things done, but about the social aspect and the strength that comes from pooling our ideas and expertise. It’s something I really value and try to bring to the table every day.
