But by the time Studio Science engaged with Apptegy, the platform was touching nearly every role within a school district and beyond. With more than 5,000 districts using its platform and district branded apps, millions of staff, families, and community members we’re interacting with Apptegy and the districts it supports.
The challenge was no longer simply redesigning a website. Apptegy needed to evolve from speaking to a single audience to intentionally supporting all audiences involved in decision making, adoption, and day to day use. The site needed to balance an enterprise-level experience with one that still felt relational, approachable, and grounded in the needs of schools and clearly communicate why strong school communication matters.

At the same time, Apptegy’s product portfolio was growing rapidly. What began as three core products quickly expanded to five, with more on the roadmap. (In the first five weeks of 2026, Apptegy has already announced two new products designed to support community engagement and improve student attendance.) Marketing needed the ability to launch new products, build new pages, and tell new stories of clients’ successes faster, without sacrificing consistency or clarity.
A significant part of this effort also centered on SchoolCEO, Apptegy’s thought leadership and research brand. SchoolCEO includes a quarterly print magazine, a digital publication, annual conference, and multi-seasons podcast that reaches more than 25,000 school leaders. Previously housed on a separate domain , SchoolCEO content played a central role in how Apptegy educates districts about the importance of school communication, marketing, and leadership. Bringing this content together with Apptegy’s main site was a key driver for the redesign. Apptegy’s domain rating was high and SchoolCEO offered high-quality research-backed, original content.
Ultimately, the challenge was about clarity at scale. Apptegy needed a website that helped schools understand why communications is critical to their success, while supporting a rapidly expanding platform, audience, and content ecosystem.
