Creative Sparks: Life at Studio Science is our way of highlighting the people behind the work - the thinkers, builders, and collaborators who turn big ideas into meaningful experiences. Through this series, we explore what fuels our team: the creativity, connection, and everyday moments that make Studio Science not just a place to work, but a place to grow.
Meet Jimmy Sharp, Client Director at Studio Science, and a driving force behind how we build trusted, long-term partnerships with our clients. A natural relationship-builder, Jimmy leads with transparency, energy, and a belief that real growth starts with real conversations.
Over the past three years, he’s helped shape how we position our CX, commerce, and technology work in the market - always grounded in honesty and a commitment to delivering what we promise. Whether he’s navigating complex pursuits or representing Studio Science onsite with clients, Jimmy brings a steady confidence rooted in trust and teamwork.
Authentic, collaborative, and always focused on outcomes, he embodies what it means to build meaningful partnerships - both inside our walls and beyond them.
Kathleen Armbruster: Why do you like working for Studio Science? What makes you proud to be part of the team?
Jimmy Sharp: What stands out most is the level of collaboration across the organization. From leadership to delivery, everyone shows up to support one another - especially during sales cycles. That kind of cross-functional alignment is rare.
There’s no silo mentality here. People don’t default to “that’s not my job.” They step in because they care about the outcome. That shared commitment, combined with a genuinely people-first culture, is something I’m proud of.
We take our work seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. There’s humility, transparency, and a down-to-earth approach that clients and partners feel immediately.
Kathleen Armbruster: What does it mean to you to be part of the Studio Science team?
Jimmy Sharp: To me, it means operating in an environment built on trust and accountability. There’s trust in leadership, trust in each other, and trust that everyone is rowing in the same direction.
We’re empowered to show up and take ownership without being micromanaged. At the same time, there’s an expectation that we support one another and deliver.
Consulting work has its ups and downs. What makes it work here is knowing the people around you are committed, collaborative, and relationship-driven - internally and with clients.
Kathleen Armbruster: What are some of the reasons you choose to stay at Studio Science?
Jimmy Sharp: When I joined Studio Science, I believed I could be successful here. The way we position ourselves - combining CX, commerce, and technology in a focused, boutique model - felt differentiated and full of opportunity.
What’s reinforced that belief is how we operate. While we’re boutique in size and speed, we show up in the market much bigger than we are - leading large, global, transformational engagements with confidence and depth. What we promise in sales genuinely translates into delivery. The quality of the work and the strength of the team give me confidence in every client conversation.
As a salesperson, knowing we can truly back up what we say makes growth sustainable - and makes the work meaningful.
Kathleen Armbruster: Can you share a favorite Studio Science memory with us?
Jimmy Sharp: One of my favorite memories is traveling onsite with clients - most recently with our team in Central America. Studio Science makes a real effort to show up in person when it matters. Being onsite early in an engagement helps us better understand our clients’ challenges and sets projects up for success in a way that virtual meetings just can’t replicate.
But it’s also the human moments that stand out - navigating questionable taxi rides, trying food you’re not used to, and spending long days together. Those shared experiences build trust quickly.
When you’re working on six- or nine-month engagements, that foundation of connection makes a real difference. It reminds you that behind every project are real people working toward a shared goal.
Kathleen Armbruster: Our core values are: 1. Honesty is the only policy 2. None of us are smart as all of us 3. Being great as a choice. Which core value do you feel you exemplify most in your day-to-day work?
Jimmy Sharp: For me, it’s Honesty is the only policy.
That’s where the rubber really meets the road with clients. We work on complex, multi-partner, multi-product implementations - and in that kind of environment, transparency matters. Clients need to know what we can do, what we can’t do, and where we may need to adjust.
I believe the strongest partnerships are built on having the tough conversations when necessary. Clients want to work with real people who can have real conversations - especially when things get hard. Being upfront, clear, and human in those moments builds trust. And when clients trust you, everything else becomes easier.
