At Studio Science, creativity fuels everything we do. Whether we’re designing cutting-edge experiences or solving complex problems, our team thrives on innovation and collaboration. But what makes Studio Science truly special is the people behind the work — their unique perspectives, passions, and stories.
That’s why we’re launching Creative Sparks: Life at Studio Science, a blog series where we dive deep into the lives of our talented team members. We want to explore what drives our people, how they find inspiration, and the moments that shape their journeys both inside and outside of Studio Science.
From the challenges that push us to grow, to the sparks of creativity that define our work, this series celebrates the heart of our company—our people.
To start us off, we’re excited to feature Marketing Operations Director Jen Griffin. Jen is an essential member of our marketing team, ensuring peak efficiency, driving growth, and improving ROI. Often referred to as the team’s “Swiss army knife,” she excels at aligning stakeholders across the organization and delivering personalized, effective marketing strategies. Jen shares her insights on leading with creativity, fostering collaboration, and how her passion for storytelling shapes the Studio Science brand.
Kathleen Armbruster: Why do you like working for Studio Science? What makes you proud to be part of the team?
Jennifer Griffin: For me, the most important thing is working for a company that allows me to live my passion for helping others. I began my career in healthcare, where I fell in love with making a positive impact through patient experience. Now, I get to combine my love for marketing, brand, and helping others at Studio Science, where customer experience is a way of life. Every day, I wake up knowing my work — whether a small gesture or a company-wide strategic initiative — makes a meaningful difference, and that’s incredibly rewarding.
Kathleen Armbruster: What does it mean to you to be part of the Studio Science team?
Jennifer Griffin: I truly feel like I’m seen as a person, not just a number. I can come to work as my authentic self, without feeling pressured to maintain a facade. This environment allows me to express when I’m having a tough day and receive genuine support. This level of authenticity not only benefits me personally but also reflects who we are as a company.
Kathleen Armbruster: What are some of the reasons you choose to stay at Studio Science?
Jennifer Griffin: Early in my career at Studio Science, right as the pandemic began, our CEO, Steve, delivered a “pep talk” about the importance of a growth mindset during uncertain times. To this day, this message resonates with me, as it emphasizes that trying new things and even failing is encouraged here, helping me overcome my own fear of failure.
I’m grateful to work in an environment that genuinely supports experimentation and resilience, where it’s not about whether you fail but about getting back up and trying again. I’ll admit I can have workaholic tendencies, but my time at Studio Science has shown me the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. For the first time in my career, I can truly check out and disconnect when I go on vacation, which has significantly improved my mental well-being and productivity. These changes have made me a better person both at home and at work, and they’re truly invaluable.
Kathleen Armbruster: Can you share a favorite Studio Science memory with us?
Jennifer Griffin: I was the last hire before the pandemic, so I started my new job just before we were sent home, which made for a unique experience. People often ask if that’s my favorite memory, and I find it funny to say that I began a new job just as the world fell apart.
Another favorite memory at Studio Science is being part of the company during its changes and growth. While it’s been challenging and has prompted hard questions for both the company and individuals, I’ve shifted from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. This change has encouraged me to explore new opportunities and embrace the possibilities that come with navigating challenges in our small, versatile team.
Kathleen Armbruster: Our core values are: 1. Honesty is the only policy 2. None of us are smart as all of us 3. Being great as a choice. Which core value do you feel you exemplify most in your day-to-day work?
Jennifer Griffin: I strive to embody all of our values daily, but if I had to choose one, it would be honesty. I prefer to be direct rather than sugarcoat things, as I believe honesty is the foundation of good relationships and the cornerstone of building trust. This approach not only strengthens our team dynamics but also enhances our ability to excel in our craft.
