Nathan serves as President, where he oversees the evolution of strategic design services and the growth of Studio Science’s dynamic, cross-discipline team. He is dedicated to helping his team build strong connections with each other, and with the agency’s unique set of clients and partners.
Before joining Studio Science in 2004, Nathan was a designer at Dean Johnson Design, a firm that played a huge part in shaping the design landscape in Indianapolis for nearly 25 years, before rebranding as Axiomport in 2011.
Nathan was the first designer to join founder Kristian Andersen at Studio Science. During his growth from designer, to Design Director, and eventually President, he helped take the agency from a two-person shop, to a nationally regarded, cross-functional team of designers, developers, strategists, writers and more. He has partnered with companies like ExactTarget, Salesforce, LifeLock and Roche during pivotal moments in their stories.
Nathan’s industry writings have been featured on Wired.com, Mattermark Daily and Digiday. He regularly speaks at industry conferences on topics around strategic design, culture and agency development, and was recognized in the Indiana Business Journal’s 2017 class of 40 under 40 business leaders.
Away from the office, Nathan serves as a leader at Fountain Square Presbyterian Church, and volunteers time to mentoring up and coming talent in the design and tech world. His wife, Carrie, teaches at The Oaks Academy, and together they stay busy raising their rambunctious brood of five children.
