Through in-depth interviews with internal stakeholders and developers, the Studio Science team discovered an imbalance within the Stack Exchange brand architecture. After shifting the masterbrand from Stack Exchange to the more recognizable Stack Overflow, the Studio Science team worked with Stack Overflow to redefine how the brand approached enterprise clients with solutions aimed at helping businesses attract and hire the best tech talent.

The collaboration informed the Stack Overflow Business brand hierarchy, and delivered B2B brand standards. Using mood boards and style tiles to frame initial discussions, a Stack Overflow Business Visual Guide was created, providing a comprehensive toolkit and cohesiveness to all B2B brand communications. Everything from personas, to brand tone, to photography styles were debated and considered in the guide. Once approved, the visual guide was activated immediately, informing the design of their reinvented B2B Careers site.

Stack Overflow made a remarkable statement within the developer community and tech industry when they shifted to the Stack Overflow masterbrand and revealed their updated B2B site. Theses changes continue to advance Stack Overflow’s mission to build the best community and tools to collectively increase the sum total of good programming knowledge in the world.
